Delay Due to Unspecified Issues

Last week, the 3.4 patch was successfully rolled out on PC and PS5 platforms. However, Xbox users are facing a significant delay due to an unspecified issue blocking the release.

According to an Embark spokesperson on the official Discord channel, the team is actively working with Microsoft to resolve the situation. They expressed regret over the delay and assured players that updates would be shared as soon as new information becomes available.

Embark emphasized their commitment to transparency, stating, "We're super sorry for this lengthy delay, and can only ask that you're patient with us as we work through it."

Insights into Development Choices

In an interview with MP1ST in December 2023, The Finals creative director Gustav Tilleby discussed the game's development choices, including the decision to initially omit popular 5v5 modes like free-for-all.

Tilleby explained, "Our ambition from the start was to create something unique. Environmental dynamism and diverse gadgets are core to our vision." He noted that while additional game modes are planned for future updates, the team focused on perfecting existing features at launch.

The Finals distinguishes itself in the crowded multiplayer shooter genre by offering extensive destructibility mechanics. Players can alter the environment drastically, from collapsing buildings to using a variety of weapons like katanas and rocket launchers.

The game launched on December 7, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
