Recent Developments in the Crash Bandicoot Franchise
In recent years, the Crash Bandicoot series has seen a resurgence. After the remastering of the first three games, a main series sequel was released along with a remaster of Crash Team Racing and a new party game called Crash Team Rumble. However, only Crash Team Rumble was not released on the Nintendo Switch, raising questions about the future of the franchise and whether Crash Bandicoot 5 would be coming soon.
Kole's Social Media Revelation
Nicholas Kole, an artist who worked on Crash Bandicoot 4, shared on social media that Crash Bandicoot 5 was in development at a different studio than Toys for Bob but was eventually canceled for unknown reasons. He mentioned that fans would be heartbroken once they learned about the project's cancellation. Kole did not provide further details but stressed the emotional impact this news would have on fans.
Additionally, Kole announced the cancellation of another project he had been working on for three years, known as Project Dragon. Despite its codename, this project is not related to the Spyro the Dragon series, which Kole's followers initially feared might also be canceled. There is still hope for Spyro 4, which rumors suggest is being developed by Toys for Bob.
