Elden Ring Lore Book: Unofficial Mythology Guide Available Now for Pre-Orders

An unofficial Elden Ring lore book is now available for pre-orders and features a lavish, 500+ page appraisal of the highly popular action role-playing game by FromSoftware.

The lore book, known as Grace Given: The Mythology of Elden Ring, could cost fans of the video game up to $1,000 for the most expensive edition. The author of the new guide is Geoff "SmoughTown" Truscott and it is published by Tune & Fairweather. The latter was founded by Jason Killingsworth.

The cheapest edition, on the other hand, costs roughly $275 and the Limited and Benefactor editions will cost around $775 and $1,110, respectively.

The Limited Edition will come with an art print and the Benefactor Edition will be able to get their name in the back of the book. Both of these are made from fancier materials and have gold-edge gilding.

The unofficial lore book will come out sometime in 2025 and it is expected that when it releases, it will contain a "comprehensive deep dive into the mythology underpinning Hidezaki's latest masterpiece," according to PCGamer.

The book itself looks visually stunning and seems like it was embossed with Elden Ring character faces and then adorned with lovely artwork on the front. Despite its price, the Grace Given: The Mythology of Elden Ring lore book is a luxury purchase at the very least.

The description of the product also notes that it was not endorsed by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco despite its gorgeous look and expansive content. What's specifically written inside are details about the game's gods and nations, its history and ideology, and many more.

Truscott said that he spent more than a year and a half working on the unofficial lore book and noted that he was happy it had finally come to fruition. He said that he worked with the Tune & Fairweather team to translate his love for Elden Ring's lore into a book form.

He also praised artists such as @MenasLG and @shimhaq Elliot Wells & Chris Lee for their contribution to Grace Given: The Mythology of Elden Ring.

Truscott's lore book comes as he has more than 230,000 subscribers on YouTube and has produced several lore videos across a wide array of games, said Eurogamer.

Hidetaka Miyazaki's Masterpiece

The lore book also comes as there are a lot of adaptations of Elden Ring that are being made with an official manga webcomic being released earlier this year. This one in particular follows an individual Tarnished on their journey to become Elden Lord.

A fan-made anime adaptation also received its first teaser trailer earlier this week ahead of an expected release sometime in the autumn. Popular author George R.R. Martin, who is responsible for the Game of Thrones franchise, hinted at a possible TV or film adaptation of FromSoftware's video game.

With pre-orders now open for Grace Given: The Mythology of Elden Ring, the basic version is set to be removed from sale after Aug. 10, 2024. If you do pre-order any of the editions before that date, you will get free shipping as well as an ebook and audiobook when they are available, according to GamesRadar.
