Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Delays Season 2 Days Ahead of Launch

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Delays Season 2 Days Ahead of Launch

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is facing yet another disastrous moment as it announced the delay of Season 2 just two days before it was scheduled to launch.

The new release date for the latest season is now set for July 25, 2024, and Rocksteady Studios thanked players for their patience. Despite this, the studio did not give out a reason for the delay of Season 2's launch.

The latest season of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will feature a new playable character, Mrs. Freeze, alongside new gear, missions, maps, and many more.

On top of the delay, a trailer for the new season has not yet been revealed to the public. It's worth noting that for Season 1, the trailer came out a week ahead of its release, according to Insider Gaming.

The latest season is the second of four that were planned as post-launch content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League when it was released earlier in January. The delay of the game's Season 2 comes as it has struggled to keep players engaged following its launch.

A report last month cited various sources who claimed that the game suffered a troubled development cycle. It alleged that Warner Bros. executives told staff at the developer that they expected the game to become a billion-dollar franchise.

However, after Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League flopped, many members of the development team were reported to have shifted to development work on a director's cut of Hogwarts Legacy.

While many of the employees at Rocksteady Studios were moving to another project, a Warner Bros. spokesperson said last month that the company planned to complete its already announced post-launch roadmap. However, the future of the game beyond its fourth season is still unclear.

In one review of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it was described as a repetitive and bland looter-shooter that did not stay fun despite having an engaging storyline, said IGN.

The Arrival of Mrs. Freeze

Season 2 came alongside the reveal of Mrs. Freeze, whose design sparked a lot of mixed reactions from players. It seems like the idea was to have a "multiverse" concept where Brainiac is pulling characters from other worlds.

And for Season 3, the current lead is Zoe Lawton, who is the daughter of another DC character, Deadshot. However, one individual that many fans may be somewhat excited about is Deathstroke, who will be coming with Season 4 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

But one issue that the game is facing is with its melee/grenade/gun system that results in nearly every single player playing the same one outside of traversal. This means that new characters mean less in the game than they do compared to other titles.

But with Mrs. Freeze being described as having an "ice surfing" type of mechanic to travel around, it might surprise fans and haters of the game alike. However, the character's arrival also exemplifies the weird concept of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as a gun-based looter, according to Forbes.
