Developer GungHo Online Entertainment is bringing iconic Disney characters to mobile devices with free-to-play Disney Pixel RPG that will be available for iOS and Android.
The game will be released in 2024 in 18 different countries and regions with English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, and Traditional Chinese language support. For now, pre-registration for Disney Pixel RPG is already open on the App Store and Google Play.

The official description for the game reads that it is an RPG that will have you going on adventures with pixel art versions of famous Disney characters. These include Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck but will also feature Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin, Ariel, Baymax, and many more!
Players will be able to dive into a never-before-seen Disney world that is filled with familiar characters who have gotten new visuals themed around rhythm games, board games, and various other genres.
The story of Disney Pixel RPG tells the tale of a world that has suddenly been invaded by strange programs which have resulted in chaos. Also, previously isolated game worlds have become connected to others and caused unexpected encounters between characters, according to Gematsu.
In Disney Pixel RPG, players will take control of a player of these games and will join the various Disney characters to restore order. The game's key features include simple but fast-paced battles that will feature Disney characters as support.

You will also have the chance to let the characters battle on their own using the game's auto mode which further eases the gameplay experience. The description says that more experienced games can go deeper by strategizing and making use of the Attack, Defend, and Skill commands.
The game lets you create your own custom avatar, allowing you to combine your favorite hairstyles and outfits. There are also various Disney-themed clothing items that can be used that will fit any kind of mood you have.
Initial Launch in Japan
The first region that will be getting a release of Disney Pixel RPG is Japan and this will be on Sept. 9, 2024. So far, there is no official release given for the game's launch in other regions across the world, said GameInformer.
The developer, GungHo Online Entertainment, is known for its efforts on the Grandia and Puzzles and Dragons franchises. But with Disney Pixel RPG, the studio is seemingly trying to take advantage of its mobile expertise.
GungHo Online Entertainment also confirmed that the game will be optimized for tablets and will make full use of the extra screen space rather than rendering in a letterbox format.
Japanese gamers who decide to pre-register for the RPG title also have a chance to win an Amazon gift card worth roughly $62 later this summer.
The combat of Disney Pixel RPG will be "slapstick strategy battles" where you will put together teams of three characters.
The game features a story mode as well as Expeditions, which are resource-gathering quests that are meant to be run in between playing sessions to maximize your characters' time, according to GameRant.
