Dave the Diver Gets Hotfix To Address Various Bugs, Issues

Dave the Diver just got a hotfix that includes a variety of bug fixes and other changes that make players' gaming experience much smoother.

The developer of the 2023 game, MINTROCKET, released the hotfix to bring the Nintendo Switch version up to 1.0.2.828. While the latest patch does not contain any new content that fans are used to seeing with Dave the Diver, it addresses some common issues.

The full patch notes that were shared reveal that the developers have fixed various issues, including where dying while farming boss materials after the Kronosaurus fight could cause the game to fail in saving.

Another issue that was addressed is where players retrying the Kronosaurus fight after choosing "Give up and return" would cause items to spawn in overlapping positions.

An issue where under certain circumstances, using the Escape Pod while encumbered would result in the game getting stuck on a guide pop-up screen, according to NintendoLife.

In the Sea People Village, the latest hotfix addressed an issue where NPCs would sometimes disappear during certain scenes. In regards to the Sushi Restaurant, two bugs were fixed.

The first is a problem that causes every tab in the sushi restaurant to overlap each other at once and the second is where it was impossible to serve beer to Dr. Bacon when he visited during business hours.

And for the EVIL FACTORY mini-game, the latest patch fixed an issue where Dave the Diver could not be paused during tutorials in certain situations. Another was where retrying tutorials could sometimes result in being attacked even during dialogues with characters, said GoNintendo.

The latest hotfix also comes as Dave the Diver is getting a new collaboration event in partnership with Goddess of Victory: Nikke. The event will be launching alongside the summer update on July 4, 2024, and add a brand new mini-game set underwater.

The mini-game will combine the gameplay of Dave the Diver while featuring the characters of Goddess of Victory: Nikke. The latter is a free-to-play RPG game that is available on iOS, Android, and PC.

Collaboration With Goddess of Victory: Nikke

In the game, players take control of a commander leading a squad of soldiers known as Nikkes into battle against alien invaders. You have the option to switch between Nikkes so that you can fire their respective guns or use their unique abilities working on missions to retake the Earth.

Director of Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Yoo Hyungsuk, and the director of Dave the Diver, Jaeho Hwang, answered some questions in celebration of their collaboration. Yoo said that their partnership was partly influenced by both games being developed in Korea.

He noted that they discussed a collaboration between the Nikke team loves creative titles and also enjoyed Dave the Diver. The latter is said to combine casual management gameplay with immersive diving mechanics.

Yoo argued that Goddess of Victory: Nikke has also continuously tried to bring new experiences to its players through different types of casual minigames.

These include a survival minigame that was added for its first anniversary as well as a tower-defense minigame for its 1.5-year anniversary, according to IGN.
