Capcom just shared an official release date for the Dead Rising Deluxe remaster a few days after the game was announced.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5 on Sept. 19, 2024, and will be purchasable via the PlayStation Store. On top of the digital version, the Dead Rising Deluxe remaster will come in a physical version.

The retail price for the remaster will be $49.99 and will feature modernized visuals and other features. These include a 4K resolution running at 60 FPS that was showcased in the latest trailer that was released.
As part of the Capcom Next Livestream, the studio covered a lot of quality-of-life improvements that will be coming alongside the graphical improvements. In the remaster, players will be able to move the protagonist, Frank West, while aiming.
There is also an auto-save feature that will be added so that you will no longer have to find a bathroom anymore. Additionally, NPC behavior has been improved and Capcom made several control adjustments to upgrade the game even further, according to Push Square.
Capcom also added real-time lighting and shadow effects that will undoubtedly change the look and general mood of the mall's locations based on the time of day, which is all possible as the remaster is running on the RE Engine.
On top of coming on digital and physical versions, there will be a Digital Deluxe Edition for the game that includes tons of bonus costumes and soundtracks, some coming from Dead Rising 2. The price for this particular edition will be $5 more expensive.

In a statement, developer Rysosuke Murai said that it wouldn't be "an exaggeration to call this game a remake" with all of its new and improved features. The remake comes as it has been years since there was a new Dead Rising game that was developed.
Capcom posted in early February a "Super Elections" survey on its website where it asked players if they would like a sequel or spin-off to its dormant franchises. These titles include Dead Rising, Okami, and Dino Crisis, said IGN.
Improving Upon the Original Game
The original Dead Rising game came out in 2006 and immediately became one of the more desirable games available exclusively on the Xbox 360. Since then, the franchise went on to become a major series for Capcom during the late 2000s and 2010s and featured three sequels.
The latest game in the series before Capcom announced the Dead Rising Deluxe remaster was Dead Rising 4, which launched in 2016 for Xbox One and PC and a year later for the PlayStation 4.
That game was met with mixed reception from players and was reported to have underperformed for the company sales-wise. This resulted in the cancellation of a new Dead Rising game and also caused the closure of Capcom Vancouver.
The Dead Rising Deluxe remaster revisits the original game released in 2006 where Frank has three in-game days to investigate the happenings at Colorado's sprawling, zombie-infested Willamette Parkview Mall.
With various changes and retention of mechanics, Capcom said that the Dead Rising Deluxe remaster will be keeping the core "unchanged" but will improve the user experience, according to Eurogamer.
