Dragon's Dogma 2 Update Finally Brings Requested Graphics Settings

Developer Capcom finally released a new title update for Dragon's Dogma 2 which adds much-requested graphics settings for players that would help fix framerate issues.

The sequel to the original fantasy role-playing game was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S earlier this year. However, it suffered from framerate problems, particularly in areas where there are a lot of NPCs, such as town centers.

This particular problem has persisted and has plagued Dragon's Dogma 2 players' experiences since the game's launch despite various updates.

But the latest patch comes with a fix for certain issues around CPU overload in certain situations, which was previously blamed for Dragon Dogma 2's framerate problems.

The studio also said that the new update should improve framerates in areas where there are a lot of NPCs. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game now have the option to change graphics settings to high/low, according to IGN.

Capcom said that when you turn the graphics settings to low, it should further improve framerates. Those who own the game on Steam can already achieve the same results by changing their graphics settings. The studio added that further frame rate improvements are planned for future updates.

Additionally, the update brings the option to turn 120Hz output on/off for console versions of Dragon's Dogma 2. Capcom said that if players' monitors support 120Hz output, turning this particular setting on will make the game display more smoothly but does not guarantee 120 FPS.

There are also many other improvements to Dragon's Dogma 2 that were included in the latest update. One is allowing players to sell items from the storage menu, increasing the maximum number of items of one kind that can be stored from 99 to 999, and making it easier to find oxcarts in the field.

Some Bug Fixes

In terms of bug fixes, the new update makes it so that players will no longer be able to enter areas that they were not meant to be able to. Additionally, the prices for precious stones in Vermund have been adjusted to be the correct values, said Eurogamer.

The patch notes also showed that the update added a function to equip armor from the storage menu and equip armor from the storage menu when changing vocation in a vocation guild.

It also adjusted things so that the maximum number of items are automatically put in storage when you put items in storage beyond the maximum limit.

It also added the option to turn the Arisen's visibility on or off whenever you are in photo mode. An issue where Venator's Leggings, Ring of Predominance, and Comforting Neck Wrap were unobtainable has been fixed, according to TrueAchievements.

The latest patch comes as Dragon's Dogma 2 has been a stellar hit for Capcom as it has sold 2.5 million copies in under two weeks after it was launched. In April earlier this year, the studio revised its full-year earnings forecast following the game's success.
