Enhanced Visuals and Stability

The switch from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 brings significant internal changes to Desynced. Players will notice improvements in global illuminations, reflections, and overall lighting.

Despite these visual upgrades, system requirements remain unchanged. However, performance may vary depending on system specifications, with ongoing efforts to optimize further. Save games and game options will be compatible between the new and old engine versions, but backing up save data is recommended.

New Features and Improvements

The update introduces several core changes aimed at improving the user experience. A new "Overlay Settings" menu has been added, allowing players to customize unit connections, state icons, and health bars. New state icons for power efficiency, running behavior, logistics settings, and unit connections have been included. Additionally, the update enables players to toggle notifications off by type, enhancing gameplay flexibility.

Gameplay changes include the ability to search for "Alien Soldier" units using the Radar component, input negative numbers on unit base and behavior parameter registers, and modify the order of items in register selections. Drones now produce from drone hubs if there is an available slot, and players can upgrade same-sized buildings.

Forklift Interactive, the developer of Desynced, expressed gratitude to the community for their feedback, which played a crucial role in shaping the update. In a press release, a spokesperson stated, "We've got a huge Quality of Life update for you, packed with over 100 fixes and changes, many of which came directly from your feedback. Your feedback was crucial in making this update possible. We hope it feels like your wishlist has come to life."
