Leaked Content and Official Confirmation

Rumors about the Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration surfaced earlier this year when leaked Fortnite roadmaps hinted at upcoming crossovers, including Billie Eilish's April appearance. Last week's update unveiled a surprise early sale of the event pass featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, sparking further speculation among players.

Confirming the community's expectations, Epic Games has now officially announced that the Pirates of the Caribbean content will drop on July 19. This follows leaks from notable Fortnite insider Hypex, who shared images of characters like Davy Jones and Elizabeth Swann set to be available separately.

New Gameplay Elements and Event Details

Among the new additions is the Ship in the Bottle item, described as a "cursed ship trapped in a bottle" that players can unleash on opponents with devastating effects. Additionally, a Jack Sparrow "Jar of Dirt" emote adds a playful nod to the beloved film series.

According to leaks, the Pirates of the Caribbean shop will open on July 18, with the main event scheduled to kick off on July 19. Despite the early availability of the event pass, Epic Games has clarified that progress will not count until the official start date, offering refunds to players who purchased it prematurely.

In related news, the recent update introduced a new competitive mode called Battle Stage, where players battle it out with music-themed attacks in a dynamic arena setting. This comes on the heels of Metallica's recent virtual concert in the game, which also introduced the band members as unlockable skins in Fortnite's Festival Pass.
