Guild Wars 2 released some new information regarding the game's upcoming new spear weapon for all professions ahead of its Janthir Wilds expansion release.
The new two-handed weapon will be available for all professions in the game and some new details about it have been revealed in a blog post and a livestream. The footage showed off some gameplay that gives players a glimpse of the spear's capabilities.

The final blog also reveals some details about the Mesmer, Revenant, and Elementalists' takes on the new weapon. It shows each of the professions' new abilities integrated with the new spear weapon.
For those who don't already know, the team has already covered the spear necessities in a separate post. This included how players will be able to earn the Kodan Spear Training Master as well as the fact that ranged versus melee use will vary by class.
For the Mesmer, there will be a new Clarity skill that prompts players to hit from precisely the right spot and reward them with bonus effects in other attacks. On the other hand, the Revenants' spear attacks focus on pulling off Abyssal Raze, which is an area-of-effect skill, according to MMORPG.
What is worth noting with this is that it stacks and prompts several bonus effects. For the Elementalists, players will be able to use different abilities based on their choice of element and then build up to a far larger weapon skill.

Additionally, the developer, ArenaNet, showed off live gameplay footage of the new skills with beautiful animations as pointed out by the chat on Twitch. The VFX was also superb for skills such as Abyssal Raze showing some amazing stacking effects.
The Janthir Wilds that features the new spear weapon is coming to the live game on Aug. 20, 2024. One of the earlier previews also showed off how Warriors, Thieves, and Engineers will use their newly found equipment against various creatures and other people.

For Thieves, they will get the special lead-combo-finish in the second and third slots along with being able to apply bonuses to the fourth and fifth slots through the full combo.
On the other hand, Warriors can unleash their full power by taking inspiration from Sunspear warriors to attack from a distance, said MassivelyOP.
But Engineers can use the new weapon for melee rushing with shock damage alongside it. On top of the new weapon, the Janthir Wilds expansion will also add the first new raid for the game in five years.
Guild Wars 2 was originally released in 2012 and has since grown more and more with the addition of various expansions. The game is amazing to look at and features an epic, ongoing story.
The last raid that was released the Key of Ahdashim which was introduced in 2019, which is a long time to go between this type of content. On top of getting a new raid, players will also be able to explore new map regions and enjoy other additions, according to PCGamesN.
