Remaster in the Wings
Last November, Ubisoft inadvertently leaked a preview of Beyond Good and Evil's 20th Anniversary Edition to some of its subscribers. This slip-up confirmed that a remaster of the original 2003 action-adventure game was indeed in the works. Ubisoft then aimed for an "early 2024" release, promising more updates during the Limited Run Games Showcase this week.
Signs Pointing to Launch
Recently, observant gamers noticed Ubisoft delisting the current version of Beyond Good and Evil from digital platforms. On Steam, the game's store page now states it's no longer available due to publisher's request. Meanwhile, Beyond Good and Evil HD, the 2011 console remaster, has also vanished from Xbox sales.
While the game is still purchasable on GOG with a steep discount, the removal from other platforms suggests Ubisoft may be preparing for the imminent release of the remaster. Ubisoft's confirmation could arrive within 24 hours, as they are set to reveal more about Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition during the Limited Run Games Showcase on June 20, streamed on YouTube and Twitch starting at 7pm.
