A video game adaptation of the highly popular horror movie A Quiet Place has resurfaced with a new name as well as the first screenshots and a gameplay trailer.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead has all the ingredients to make it a great title as the entire film can be considered an overly long stealth mission that had dire consequences for failure. What makes it even more intense is that any crunchy grass or minor noise could attract the monsters.
A Quiet Place Video Game
The game was originally announced back in 2021, three years after the movie was released, and was more of a statement telling the public that it was in the works. The developer leading the project is iLLOGIKA and the publisher is Saber Interactive.
The latter had previously turned fellow horror movie World War Z into a multiplayer game that shocked many with how good it was. Initially, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead was planned for a 2022 release window but then went, well, quiet, for a few years, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
The latest announcement for the game has also shown that the developer was being replaced by Stormind Games. The studio is known for the Remothered series of survival-horror games and hack-and-slash action RPG Batora: Lost Haven.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will feature an original story that is set in the universe of the movie rather than following the plot that director John Krasinski set in the film. It will also not follow the story of the sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, or the prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One.

The game's reveal trailer showed off some first-person gameplay that involves the expected requirement of keeping quiet. This is while various objects in the environment make it hard for you to do so, such as creaky doors, drawers, and broken glass.
The project is set to release on a variety of platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S sometime this year. The movie's story followed a post-apocalyptic theme where human survivors are struggling against blind, extraterrestrial creatures, said IGN.
Capturing the Film's Horror Nature
While the monsters are not able to see anything, they have an acute sense of hearing that can pinpoint the origin of a sound very accurately. The film starred director and actor John Krasinski and his wife, actress Emma Blunt.
The game's publisher, Saber Interactive, is known for recently being freed from the Embracer Group and is responsible for a variety of titles. These include Space Marine 2, Jurassic Park: Survival, and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake.
The official description of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead says that it is a first-person, single-player, horror adventure game that was inspired by the film. The game is said to capture the frantic terror, unnerving atmosphere, and gripping human drama that made the movie so popular.
The game stars a young woman who is trying to stay as far away from the monsters as possible while also dealing with her own inner fears and family turmoil. Oh, did we mention that your character has asthma? Because she does.
