With Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion concluding the ten-year Light and Darkness saga, developer Bungie is now looking ahead. They have shared details about future content for their live-service shooter, including hints about a mysterious new project, Codename: Frontiers, coming next year.

New Content Delivery Model
When Bungie revealed The Final Shape last August, they also announced a change in how Destiny 2 content will be released in 2024. Instead of four yearly seasons, Bungie will introduce three "larger, content-packed" episodes. Each episode will have standalone stories split into three six-week-long acts.
The first episode, Echoes, launches tomorrow, June 11. It picks up right after the events of The Final Shape. Players will explore Nessus, uncover ancient secrets, and face a new enemy.
The second episode, Revenant, expected between July and October, will feature a vampire-hunting theme. Players will become Slayer Barons, battling the Fallen, and will be able to craft potions for combat and loot.
The third episode, Heresy, likely arriving between November and February next year, will take players back to the Dreadnaught from Destiny's The Taken King expansion.
The Mystery of Codename: Frontiers
Destiny 2's 2025 content begins with something Bungie is currently calling Codename: Frontiers. What this project entails is still unclear, but the lack of the term "episodes" in the announcement has sparked speculation. Some fans think it might be a new expansion, possibly starting the next big story arc in Destiny.
Details about Codename: Frontiers are scarce, and it's unlikely more information will be revealed soon since Bungie still has three episodes to release before it.
