Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios revealed that they are working on some big changes for the game's future Warbonds that have garnered mixed feelings from players.

The studio confirmed that the next patch update for the highly popular shooter will be coming out in the near future. While it would not be the "mother of all patches," it is something that players can be excited about.

This is primarily because it aims to deliver balance changes for some controversial weapons that players have access to. On top of the patch, there will be the arrival of the Illuminate to anticipate and their emergence appears to be imminent because of a gateway in the shape of a "black hole."

The upcoming patch and inevitable arrival of the Illuminate are both exciting but players can also expect a fresh Premium Warbond soon. When this particular premium content comes out, it is recommended to enjoy it as the rollout is set to slow down, according to VideoGamer.

Arrowhead Game Studios also confirmed the release date for the next Helldivers 2 Warbond, known as Viper Commandos. This particular Warbond has a jungle aesthetic and includes a variety of content for players to enjoy.

These include several armor sets, such as the PH-202 Twigsnapper and PH-9 Preadator, the AR-23A Liberator Carabine Assault Rifle, the SG-22 Bushwacker Shotgun, multiple patterns, utilities, boosters, banners, capes, emotes, and the Viper Commando player title.

Other than announcing when the latest Warbond will be coming out, the video game studio also revealed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that they are changing the release schedule for future Warbonds.

Players can unlock Warbonds by spending 1,000 Super Credits, which can either be purchased with real money or acquired at minor points of interest on the map. Kany players have criticized Warbonds for becoming a little bit too frequent but not having enough items included to justify them, said Polygon.

In a post on the official Sony site, community manager Katherine Baskin said that based on player input, they decided to change their approach to Warbonds moving forward in a variety of ways.

Focusing More on Quality

The first is that they will be slowing down the pace at which Arrowhead Game Studios releases Warbonds. This decision was made in order to give the studio a little more time to polish the designs before they are released for players to enjoy.

The second is that they would be changing the arrangement of items found in each Warbond in order to make room for new item types. Baskin said that it was already time to focus on quality over quantity.

The latter would prevent them from just adding more of everything, which could sometimes lead to the release of weapons that feel redundant and uninteresting armor.

She also noted that when they started researching items for Viper Commandos, they wanted to make sure that they answered players' calls for stronger theming.

Baskin later said that she believes that the latest Warbond is the strongest-themed one so far for Helldivers 2 and lets players equip their characters from head to boots with the finest tools to live out their jungle combat dreams, according to the PlayStation Blog.
