MultiVersus Releaes 1.01 Patch Notes With Iron Giant Nerf, Other Character Changes

MultiVersus developer Player First Games has revealed the patch notes for the game's 1.01 update that features nerfs to the Iron Giant as well as other character changes.

On top of the tweaks, the latest patch also includes various fixes and improvements as well as details on how the Iron Giant problem will be addressed. The first thing that the patch notes mention is that the character is still not playable following the decision to pull it from the roster.

The developer also noted that there will be a status update that they will share sometime next week. The reason for the Iron Giant character being removed from the roster was because of complaints that he was overpowered and gave other players an unfair advantage.

The patch notes mention that the upcoming patch will add changes that will prevent "Iron Giant from chaining certain sets of attack infinitely." There are two things that will be nerfed, which are the Ground Side Attack and the Rage Mode Up Special, according to IGN.

The former will have a "slightly smaller" hitbox while the latter will have its final hit damage decreased from six to five. Another change in the patch that is worth noting is a fix to an issue that was causing performance problems for users on Xbox Series X/S.

Additionally, the 1.01 update will address an issue where specific keyboard configurations could cause phantom inputs while a player is in a match.

It also makes some general changes to MultiVersus, such as Lowered Hit Pause on all Hits by 10% in 1v1 modes and Battlepass experience now being granted after each PvP Match.

One noteworthy change in the upcoming patch is letting players try all Fighters in Training Mode, even those that they do not own.

Some of the bugs that the patch fixes include players not being able to complete daily rewards in Rifts Mode and beam visual effects occasionally being invisible on PlayStation consoles.

A Variety of Changes and Improvements

There are also other characters that will be affected by the patch, including Arya, whose dash attack will have a reduced buffer window for follow-up attacks. On the other hand, Bugs Bunny was also tweaked to fix an issue that caused the Safe to hit repeatedly and rapidly in succession, said ShackNews.

The update will no longer allow Shaggy's Neutral Air Attack to combo back into the Jab combo at all damage levels. On top of that, the character's base knockback will be increased to 1,700 from 1,300 and knockback scaling will be increased from 13 to 14.

The beloved DC Comics heroine, Wonder Woman, is also among those affected as her Lasso of Truth now has a cooldown before it can grab opponents. This particular change was made after players complained that spamming her lasso was too oppressive.

Despite the various nerfs on several MultiVersus characters, Taz is one who received a buff with his Tornado ability doing more damage. The final hit on a non-cooldown tornado will be increased to eight from seven, according to DotEsports.
