Second Dinner, the studio behind Marvel Snap, has recently made a significant alteration to its Leagues feature following player feedback. This change comes after weeks of controversy surrounding the introduction of Leagues, which allowed players to compete against each other in short-term leaderboards.

Addressing Pay-to-Win Concerns
The uproar stemmed from the fact that players could purchase in-game perks that provided advantages in competitive gameplay. These perks included doubled point gains for a limited time and point shields to prevent point loss. This setup raised concerns about the game becoming 'pay-to-win', where those willing to spend money could gain an unfair advantage over others.
An Update for Fairer Competition
Responding to player feedback, Second Dinner has rolled out an update that removes the ability to purchase boosts within Leagues. Instead, players now have the option to participate in either a Standard League or a Premium League, with the latter offering greater rewards. Leagues will still consist of 30 players competing against each other, earning and losing points based on their performance over a period of 48 to 72 hours.
Additionally, Second Dinner has announced a partnership with IGN Live to unveil further updates to Marvel Snap during the upcoming fan event starting on June 7.
