A new trailer for Kingmakers, an upcoming strategy game, showcases how the title mixes medieval and futuristic combat.
The game initially introduced itself to the world in February earlier this year when it released a trailer that seemingly obscured its true nature. The first 23 seconds of footage showed a quintessential medieval strategy game similar to Mount & Blade and Age of Empires.
A Mix of Medieval and Futuristic Combat
But then Kingmakers gave way to some DeLorean-style time-travel and a lone ranger hacking his way through a medieval army using a rifle. Now, the game is back with another trailer that shows off a series of drive-by motorbike shootings before going on to become even more ridiculous.
Kingmakers' destruction physics was put on display in the new trailer and was considered good for a game that clearly has to keep a large number of NPCs moving around.
When the main character goes back into the field, they are seen decked out in a modern tank fighting against wooden architecture, according to GamesRadar.
Other weapons that players will be able to use in Kingmakers include shotguns, grenade launchers, and others that are more or less just as destructive. You will have to save the future by killing thousands of soldiers.
The game's developer, Redemption Road, will incorporate elements from various popular titles, such as Serious Sam and Killing Floor. The studio also confirmed that Kingmakers will be released on Steam on early access sometime this year.

When you dive into the world of Kingmakers, you will be tasked with changing the course of history by eliminating scores of soldiers on the battlefield. You have been sent back 500 years into the past in medieval England.
The developer also said that Kingmakers will have a procedural generation of enemies which means that every run will be different every time.
With the help of AI, every single enemy and soldier will be able to make their own decisions, choose sides, and be loyal to the army that they decide to go with, said FandomWire.
Kingmakers Steam Early Access
Additionally, the game will even use air strikes and helicopters as part of its destructive arsenal that has the capability of killing a lot of soldiers. While Kingmakers does not yet have an official release date, those who are eager to play it can already wishlist it on Steam.
Kingmakers is described as a unique take on the genre that will make players feel like they are actually part of the battle of their lives. Redemption Road's idea to mix medieval and futuristic combat is also interesting and gives players the satisfaction of obliterating scores of enemies.
The main point of the game's latest trailer was to show how it actually intends to handle the destruction of buildings. These infrastructure include cottages and taverns to towering stone castles that players can lay waste to.
Redemption Road also promises that these dynamic collapses and explosions all happen in real time using realistic physics. This is a feature that makes the medieval-futuristic game a fun game to play, unlike anything before it, according to Polygon.
