Kingdom Hearts on Steam: Square Enix To Release Several Titles on Valve's Platform

Square Enix is planning to release PC versions of various Kingdom Hearts titles via Steam on June 13, 2024, and each will be available to purchase individually or as part of an all-in-one bundle.

The games pack is known as the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece collection and features Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind.

Every single game in the collection is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store as well as for the Nintendo Switch for the cloud versions. Square Enix said that across the available titles, players will experience the "Dark Seeker Saga."

You will be able to play through Sora's humble beginnings on the idyllic Destiny Islands, his fateful meeting with Donald Duck and Goofy, and Ultimately the trio's climactic battle against the forces of darkness.

The studio also said that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX features various textural upgrades that make its graphics better.

On the other hand, buying Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind or the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece bundle will give you a new platform-exclusive Keyblade, the "Death of Night," according to Gematsu.

For those who are not entirely familiar with the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX combines several full games into one title.

These include Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered Cinematics), Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded (HD Remastered Cinematics).

On the other hand, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is a collection that includes Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage-, and Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover (movie).

Other than Square Enix releasing these Kingdom Hearts titles for Steam, a trailer will be coming out tomorrow on YouTube that will feature Utada Hikaru's Simple & Clean (Re-Recording). This will also be re-released as a single on May 22, 2024, at midnight JST, said KH13.

A Collection of Various Titles in the Franchise

The song has a Japanese language counterpart known as Hikari (Re-Recording) which was previously released in April as part of the singer-songwriter's newly released Science Fiction album. This is particularly noteworthy because the song is heard in many games in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

The Steam release of the Kingdom Hearts games also comes as Kingdom Hearts 4, the latest mainline entry in the franchise still does not have an official release date. The game was officially revealed as being in development in 2022 and is being created using Epic's Unreal Engine 5.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is said to be connected to the upcoming mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing Link.

Despite the lack of information about the game, it is worth noting that game director Tetsuya Nomura is also working on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, which probably delays his work on the Kingdom Hearts franchise, according to ComicBook.
