Food Devils Kickstarter Campaign Reaches Funding Goal in First 3 Days

Food Devils is an ambitious title that mixes a variety of gaming genres into one and was able to surge past its Kickstarter campaign funding goal in the first three days.

The game is made by solo developer Studio Daimon and is essentially an RPG title but has elements from a turn-based tactics game, a restaurant management sim, and features a love story between anime demons.

The world of Food Devils is set in a post-apocalyptic setting where you are the last professional chef on Earth. In order for you to keep your business running, you will have to gather various ingredients and fresh produce from four different biomes.

Each of these areas represents a sin that was committed by the former human civilization and has been mostly wiped out.

To complete this task, you will need companions and in order to get them, you need to lure them to your restaurant, serve them a good meal, and have them sign a covenant with one of the eponymous food devils, according to PCGamesN.

The combat in Food Devils is turn-based and features various classes, abilities, and levels. This part of the game feels very much like other popular titles such as Darkest Dungeon but has anime visuals and a much lighter atmosphere.

On the other hand, the game's exploration and party-building seem to have been inspired largely by roguelike games. Players can redesign and rebuild their team of adventurers every time they make a supply run into the biomes. Additionally, every single run will let you come back with a different haul.

The first step for players is to attract new adventurers with hearty meals and inviting decor. The next step is to get them to sign up for your next outing alongside a relevant food devil. The third step is choosing a specific biome, battle your way through, and loot whatever you can.

The last step is to go back to your business and use what you grabbed to create a new and exciting menu. This is the main gameplay that you will repeat in Food Devils and comes on top of being able to start a relationship or play matchmaker.

Mixing Several Gaming Genres

Food Devils is set to launch in late 2025 for PC and could get console releases if the Kickstarter campaign reaches that particular stretch goal. Despite the game being a roguelike, it promises to deliver a profound narrative depth, said Digitally Downloaded.

The game gives players the freedom of what to say, who to support, and what dishes to cook in their restaurants which will all influence the culture. Food Devils also has a variety of difficulty options that would cater to casual players and hardcore gamers.

The classes in Food Devils including Warrior, Shielder, Mage, and Healer have their own strengths and weaknesses. Having your human adventurers sign a Devil Contract will boost their skills, stats, and mobility.

The game features professional voice acting and contains some of the greatest voices from the anime and games industry. The culture system in Food Devils will influence which Devils will favor you, according to Kickstarter.
