A Tribute to Classic JRPGs
Alzara: Radiant Echoes is Studio Camelia's debut title and the studio was set up in 2021 by CEO and creative director Emma Delage.
She had previously worked at Ubisoft and had a hand in various titles such as the Ghost Recon franchise, Watch Dogs Legion, Beyond Good & Evil 2, and many others, said GamesIndustry.
It has been more than a decade since Delage has come into the gaming industry and she has a background in marketing, business strategy, and production. She is a lifelong JRPG fan and has dreamed of starting her own studio since she was a kid.
She added that she had gone through her entire career with only that one particular goal in mind. Delage first started working at indie studios in 2012 before moving on to Square Enix for a while and then to Ubisoft.
One thing to note about Delage's latest project is that the world within Alzara: Radiant Echoes seems very much rooted in real-world locations.
This is a sharp contrast to most JRPGs which are typically set in fantasy universes or far-off worlds that leave very little chance for players to relate, according to PCGamesN.
