Black Desert Online Prepares NA Server Migration for Improved Performance

Black Desert Online players in North America are in for a change as the game gears up for a significant server relocation. Initially announced by Pearl Abyss during the Calpheon Ball in 2022, the move is finally scheduled to take place this month. Alongside this migration, Black Desert Mobile receives a substantial update, introducing the new region of North Kamasylvia.

Improved Performance on the Horizon

The relocation of North American servers is slated for May 22, coinciding with the game's weekly maintenance routine. Historically, Black Desert Online servers have been situated on the West Coast. However, with 70% of players hailing from the East Coast and Central US, the decision to move the servers to the Central US aims to enhance performance for a broader player base.

By positioning the servers centrally, the move seeks to optimize gameplay experience for players across both the East and West Coasts, striving for a more equitable distribution of server resources.

The development team has provided insights into the rationale behind the move, including a map illustrating connection origins and potential ping variations. While players on the West Coast may experience a slight dip in performance due to the server relocation, the overarching goal remains focused on enhancing the player experience, aligning with Pearl Abyss's ongoing commitment to player satisfaction.

Exploring North Kamasylvia in Black Desert Mobile

Meanwhile, Black Desert Mobile enthusiasts are treated to the introduction of the new North Kamasylvia region. This foggy and perilous territory boasts fresh zones ripe for exploration, challenging adversaries to conquer, and coveted rewards to claim.

Among the hazards encountered in North Kamasylvia is the Kamasylvia: Forest's Wound, a treacherous locale akin to the West Kamasylvia's Shady Fog Forest Path. With its ominous moniker, adventurers can expect formidable foes and thrilling encounters. To venture forth into this foreboding landscape, players are advised to attain a recommended CP of 60,000, with challenges escalating accordingly.

Furthermore, within North Kamasylvia lies the Chaos Rift X, Tranquil Foggy Forest, where intrepid warriors can obtain a Virtuous Shield granting them 18 minutes to vanquish monsters and reap the rewards of their conquest.
