Mortal Kombat 1 Adds Mavado as Latest Kameo Fighter Alongside Extensive Patch Notes

Mortal Kombat 1 just added Mavado as the fighting game's latest Kameo fighter who is released alongside extensive patch notes.

The latest update for the highly popular fighting game has been released for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Mavado's arrival to the world of Mortal Kombat 1 follows the return of Ermac, who was added to the game a few weeks ago.

Beyond the roster addition, the game's developer, NetherRealm Studios, also made some adjustments to various characters in Mortal Kombat 1 that will most likely shift the meta. The latest update also contains some platform-specific fixes for players on PC and Nintendo Switch.

It also features some overhauls for Invasions and Online play, and the latter in particular, will experience fewer crashes that many players have experienced in multiplayer battles.

With regards to the altered characters, the developer made some minor changes to Sub-Zero and Quan Chi on the main roster and Shujinko and Sonya among Kameo fighters, according to ComicBook.

The patch notes reveal that for PC Steam and Epic Games Store, there is a new online benchmark UI screen that is displayed when failing to meet Krossplay Matchmaking FPS or Storage Speed thresholds.

The update also fixes an issue where the game would not properly boot up if players are using certain 3rd party software. It also fixes a stability issue with Invasion's Tarkatan Colony mesa as well as certain stutters that would sometimes occur when dropping below 60FPS during an online match.

For the Nintendo Switch, the latest update fixes the announcer's voice getting cut off after players select Arena in practice mode. It also fixes an issue where Kung Lao's hat is missing during the intro cinematic of the game.

Kenshi's "Festival Disguise" skin will now also properly change to an equipped palette. With regards to characters, the update gives Sonya Kameo a slight nerf as there will not be an increased recharge time if you use her Energy Rings more than once in a single combo, said EventHubs.

Various Adjustments and Fixes

 In terms of general fixes and adjustments, the latest Mortal Kombat 1 update makes some move list corrections and localization fixes. It also adjusted head physics during The Klassic Brutality as well as a rare issue that would sometimes make the game crash when using the Copilot feature on Xbox.

The other character that was changed is Shujinko Kameo, with his Kopy Kat & Mimic now being displayed in the move list. There were also fixes with the move list that could sometimes happen after a Practice Reset while morphed into opponent Shang Tsung's Kameo.

The latest character added to the game, Mavado, was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and is one of the leaders of the Red Dragon clan. This is a crime syndicate in Earthrealm that is controlled by Daegon.

As a Kameo fighter, Mavado will use his grappling hooks as weapons and they power up all of his moves in a match. Ahead of his release, he was featured in Ermac's trailer alongside the red ninja, according to GameRant.
