Manor Lords Details First Patch, Including Bug Fixes, Mechanical Improvements

Manor Lords publisher Hooded Horse has detailed the city-building game's first patch, which includes a plethora of bug fixes as well as mechanical improvements.

The first proper update to the game comes as it recently launched in early access on Steam and has already reached more than 1 million sales and relatively positive player feedback. This comes as it was, prior to its release, the most wish-listed game on Valve's gaming platform.

The developer of the game, Slavic Magic, has been closely monitoring community reviews since launch despite Manor Lords' relative success with early access. There has been a lot of player feedback and the strategy game is continuously evolving.

Hooded Horse revealed that Manor Lords' first patch includes a fix to all the homeless bugs, adjusting archers' damage, and fixing the trade oversupply mechanic, among others.

While there is currently no official release date for the patch, many players expect it to come sometime this month, according to PCGamesN.

One of the things included in the game's first patch is having the AI claim territory over longer periods, which would most likely take some pressure off some players. A trade survey for the game had found that players wanted the mechanic of trade oversupply to stay but nerfed down.

Right now, when many people sell too much of one particular resource, it makes its value drop significantly. On the other hand, when they buy too much of one particular resource, its price will rise significantly.

The developer also noted that they thought that "specializing regions in producing certain goods is how the game should be played." However, they also asked players of the game if they wanted the mechanic to be changed in some way.

It was also noted before that Greg Styczen, also known as Slavic Magic, was working to "improve the sawpit efficiency/storage." He was also looking at fixing another bug that stopped players from accessing free mode, said Rock Paper Shotgun.

Addressing a Variety of Issues

The developer said that the players who are experiencing crashes might need to update their graphics card drivers. The publisher noted that 99% of crashes that occur are due to old drivers. He added that the other reason is that the game is defaulting to FSR and older GPUs.

Currently, Manor Lords is still in early access, which makes bugs a typical thing to find for players and be addressed by developers. Slavic Magic promised to release regular patches in order to fix various issues the game may have, focusing on the worst problems first.

In the developer's detailing of the patch, some players also asked if they would be addressing the issue of games not loading after a save game. This was replied to with, "If that's Gamepass/MS Store, it's sadly on Microsoft's side."

Slavic Magic said that they had already notified the company about the issue and said that they were already working on it. Supposedly, players can reinstall Gaming Services and try to log in to Game Bar to fix it, according to ReadWrite.
