The first hotfix for No Rest for the Wicked's early access version on Steam has come out and seeks to address some of the major issues that players have experienced.
The game launched last week to a myriad of performance issues and other complaints and the developer, Moon Studios, promises that another fix is "on the way." The company's first hotfix focuses on improvements to balance and several of No Rest for the Wicked's core systems.

These include reducing durability damage taken to players' gear, reducing repair costs, increasing the drop rate on Repair Powders, and reducing stamina costs as well as fall damage.
The drop rate of Fallen Embers has also been reduced and a crash that could occur when players quit out to the main menu has been fixed.
Earlier in the week, user reviews on Steam showed that durability and repair costs were two of the most shown complaints. Moon Studios also outlined a list of known issues in the game, along with some solutions, that will also add remappable controls, according to Rock Paper Shotgun,
The troubled launch of No Rest for the Wicked made it have a "mixed" review rating on Steam despite its homage to popular titles such as Diablo and Dark Souls. The game has been on fans' radars for so long as Moon Studios is also known for its previous game, Ori - The Will of the Wisps.
Many players loved No Rest for the Wicked's setting and concept but complained about early balance and performance issues. Fortunately, the developer is already working on fixes to address most, if not all, of the major complaints from players.

Moon Studios has also been very upfront about the launch of No Rest for the Wicked, noting that it is very much an early access proposition. The company's co-founder, Thomas Mahler, said that the game is at a point where it needs help from players to build it into the best title that it can be.
While the developer is a little bit slower in addressing the game's performance issues, its quick response to other major complaints is being taken relatively well by the community. The company said that the recently released hotfix is the first of many upcoming patches, said PCGamesN.
Addressing Major Player Complaints
Another key change in the latest patch is a balance update for the boss of the Cerim Crucible dungeon. This is the replayable endgame dungeon that only becomes available when players finish No Rest for the Wicked's first campaign act.
The early loot table for Blacksmith Fillmore has also been expanded to include more weapons, which is supposed to let players pick up a wider variety of equipment in the early stages of the game.
The first hotfix also reduces the cost of Horseshoe Crab as well as food that includes the ingredient itself. It also makes changes to the corpse-smeared blade starting from a Tier 2 to Tier 1 weapon.
No Rest for the Wicked is said to feel sublime and shows promise but John Linneman of Digital Foundry noted that players should be aware that it is still in early access, according to Eurogamer.
