Fallout 76's Skyline Valley Now Open for Exploration on PTS

Skyline Valley, inspired by the real-world Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, offers players a brand-new area to traverse. Whether you're a seasoned Fallout 76 veteran or a newcomer, there's plenty to discover in this MMORPG realm.

The Storm-Chasing Public Event

One of the highlights of Skyline Valley is the "Dangerous Pastimes" public event, where players assist a group of intrepid storm-chasers. Your mission? Safeguard the team as they venture close to a raging maelstrom, all while facing off against treacherous weather effects, formidable foes known as the Lost, and electrified wildlife.

In addition to exploring the scenic vistas of Skyline Valley, Bethesda encourages players to conduct nuclear tests in the area during the PTS phase. While the outcome remains uncertain, it adds an extra layer of excitement to the testing process.

Combat Adjustments and Enhancements

Alongside the introduction of Skyline Valley, the PTS will also serve as a testing ground for combat updates planned for future patches. Initial adjustments target specific creatures like anglers, cave crickets, floaters, gulpers, mutant hounds, and Protectrons. Further enhancements are in the pipeline for various weapons and enemy types.

Notably, improvements to damage falloff calculations promise significant performance boosts for shotguns and pipe guns, particularly against larger adversaries.

Ready to start on your PTS journey? If you own the Steam version of Fallout 76, you can participate in the Public Test Server by locating it in your Steam library and installing it.
