CD Projekt has unveiled the official mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, dubbed The Witcher 3 REDkit, on Steam for playtesting. This comprehensive modding tool, based on the same tools used by CD Projekt to develop Wild Hunt, promises nearly limitless freedom for players to customize their gaming experience.

Join the Playtest
The REDkit playtest is currently in beta, with CD Projekt cautioning players about potential issues. Interested individuals can request access through the REDkit's Steam page, where access will be granted in batches. However, it's essential to note that The Witcher 3 must be installed for the editor to function correctly.
Introducing Steam Workshop Beta for The Witcher 3
In conjunction with the REDkit playtest, CD Projekt has also launched a Steam Workshop beta for The Witcher 3. This platform will host mods created using the REDkit editing tool. While the Workshop beta is accessible to all, interested users need to join a special Steam group and opt into the beta through the game's properties settings in their Steam library.
As CD Projekt continues to refine the REDkit and Steam Workshop support, the full release is expected "later this year."
