Electronic Arts' job listing for its new Black Panther game suggests that the title in development will be set in an open-world environment.
The video game company's new job advert reveals that it is recruiting for a "principal sandbox designer" at Cliffhanger Games. The ad also states that it is "focusing on blockbuster action-adventure games and pioneering next-generation emergent storytelling beginning with Marvel's Black Panther."
New Black Panther Game
The ad also noted that the job opening will report to the Design Manager and is known as the Sr. Technical Designer Sandbox. The person will be responsible for designing and populating encounters, systems, and gameplay set within what was described as a dynamic and evolving open world.
The company adds that it will have to draw upon a deep understanding of technical design principles and a passion for creating immersive sandbox experiences. EA said that the role would demand close collaboration with design teams, AI engineering, and technical art departments to bring the new game to life, according to Eurogamer.
Cliffhanger Games was first formed in 2021 and is currently being led by Kevin Stephens, who was previously the boss of Warner's Monolith during the development of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Other than these games, the studio's team also includes veterans who worked on other franchises, such as Halo, God of War, and Call of Duty. The new Black Panther game is being developed in collaboration with Marvel Games.
Stephens said that they want the new title to let players feel what it's like to be worthy of the Black Panther mantle in various unique, story-driven ways. He added that Cliffhanger Games will empower everyone on their team as they work together to bring the amazing world to life.
An Open-World Setting
He noted that they are still in early development with a long road ahead but argued that the foundation of any great story is to build an experienced team with diverse voices and perspectives. This would allow them to build what they want, which is crucial, especially for a superhero as important as Black Panther, said Video Games Chronicles.
This is not the only recent Marvel game to be announced in development as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra recently revealed a new story trailer. The footage gave fans a sneak peek into an original story that is set during World War II and features an ensemble of four heroes that can be controlled at different parts of the game.
Players will have to make full use of four central characters, Steve Rogers AKA Captain America, Azzuri, T'Challa's grandfather, Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy.
The trailer also showcased the latest features of Epic's Unreal Engine 5.4 and gave fans a look at Captain America and Black Panther fighting in Paris. The game is set to release in 2025 and is said to bring exhilarating gameplay inspired by Marvel's landmark comics, films, and television series.
The upcoming title captures the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that fans have loved for decades, according to Marvel.
