Solo developer Tomas Sala revealed a year-long roadmap for his beautifully crafted city-building game Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles that redefines that genre.
Many players who have had the chance to get their hands on Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles breathe fresh air with simple but unique building mechanics. The game has players stretching out raised pathways and towers across a series of islands that make the new title one of the most beloved city-building games of the year.
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles' Year-Long Roadmap
In a statement revealing the year-long roadmap, Sala said that he dedicated three whole years of his entire life to creating Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. He thanked the community for the support, saying that this was what fuelled his journey every single step of the way until the project's completion.
He said that Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is actually the second game in a trilogy, adding that the game's launch on Steam "surpassed my expectations." Sala noted that his journey in bringing the game to life was shaped by the collaborative spirit of players whose feedback and aspirations guided the evolution of his title, according to PCGamesN.
The first two updates that were revealed in the roadmap include a variety of features that the solo developer said "respond directly to fan feedback and requests." The first is the Trade, Tribute, and Spoils update, which will come in April and add three new captains that specialize in trade.

This would also include three new diplomacy events that Sala said would "shape the fate of the Ursee forever." Players will also have new spoils to obtain from combat and world events that can then be used to craft extractors, repair ships, and arm their forces for continued exploration.
The next update would come in May, which is the Naval Command update, introducing the ability for players to create a Naval Task Force of battleships. These can be directed independently of surveyors and will have four new carrier ships and a trio of naval events.
Continued Updates
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is set to receive monthly updates and Sala said that he had already started to work on the third and final game in his trilogy, codenamed Project Ancient Waves. This title is a sea-faring adventure that puts players into a position where they will have to ride the waves of the Ursee, said GamesPress.
The game's publisher, Wired Productions, in cooperation with Sala, also revealed the Origins bundle, which would feature the first title in the franchise, The Falconeer, which was released in 2020, and Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles for players who want to discover the legend of the Ursee.
The other updates in the roadmap for the second game in the trilogy have not yet been revealed but are said to include new architecture, a faction expansion, mod and workshop support, and many more that will be announced in the future.
What sets Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles apart from generic city-building games is the lack of a building menu. Instead, the game lets players discover what they can build and what can be upgraded by clicking on the world, which is a creative take on the genre, according to Eurogamer.
