Dragon’s Dogma 2's Crafting System Sparks Frustration Among Players

Some players of the highly anticipated Dragon's Dogma 2 have found a mischievous loophole in the game's crafting system, leading to frustration among fellow gamers. The issue arises from the forging of fake rewards for Pawn Quests, a practice that has stirred both amusement and exasperation within the gaming community.

The Forgery Mechanic

The forgery mechanic in Dragon's Dogma 2 came to light primarily during the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest, where players have the opportunity to forge items at Ibrahim's Scrap Shop in the Checkpoint Rest Town. This feature was intended as a convenient way for players to obtain potential rewards from quests.

The Rise of Counterfeit Items

However, some players have taken advantage of this mechanic to create counterfeit items, which they then gift to Pawns upon their return to their Arisen. This deceitful act has left many recipients disappointed, as they initially believe they've received valuable rewards only to discover they are fake duplicates with no actual in-game effects.

According to PC Gamer, the excitement of receiving what appears to be a coveted item quickly turns to disappointment when players realize they have been duped. The forged items in Dragon's Dogma 2 bear comical names that mimic legitimate items but lack any practical use. Examples include "Wokestones," "Part Crystals," and "Seeders Tokens."

Community Response and Reactions

Despite the humorous nature of these forged items, some players have expressed frustration at being deceived. While the community generally takes the situation in good spirits, there have been instances of extreme reactions to Pawns insinuating certain effects, highlighting the sensitivity of some players to such jokes.

One Reddit user shared their experience of unwittingly receiving a counterfeit item, mistaking a "Ferristone" for the valuable "Ferrystone." Capcom even crafted a special cutscene variation depicting the Arisen's disappointment upon realizing the uselessness of the item, adding a touch of humor to the situation.
