NetEase Games is rumored to be working in tandem with Marvel Games to create a new 6v6 Overwatch-style shooter that pits superheroes against each other.
Several known leakers in the industry have pointed to the existence of the game which was seemingly corroborated by Forbes' Paul Tassi. He said that he is convinced that the game is "likely real." Other leakers, such as Kurakasis and Miller, have also vouched for the legitimacy of the new project in several tweets.
New Marvel Shooter Game
Leaker Kurakasis also further suggested that the new game is titled "Marvel Rivals," but there have been no reports to suggest that this particular name is confirmed. NetEase Games had previously worked on other Marvel titles, such as Marvel Super War, a 3D and third-person MOBA that remains free-to-play.
The company is also responsible for developing and publishing Marvel Duel, which is a mobile CCG, which is something that players most likely ditched in exchange for Marvel Snap. After the support from various sources, the rumors for the potential new game are building trust among fans, according to Insider Gaming.
The report from The Streamr also suggested that the new title will have James Arnold Taylor voicing Magneto from the X-men franchise. Fans of the Star Wars franchise will also recognize Taylor as the voice behind Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars.
His talent will certainly go a long way in providing fans with a lot of hype about the supposedly new shooter game. The information also lines up with rumors that NetEase Game's untitled Marvel projects have a much larger budget compared to previous titles.

The initial report also said that "environmental destruction is a big part" of the game that is rumored to be in development. Kurakasis believes that an announcement is imminent following a new Twitter post, which hyped up fans even more than before.
This comes after Marvel Games themselves posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about a planned announcement for what they called an "epic showdown" that was caused by a unique disruption in the timestream, said Push Square.

Rumors About the Title
Other rumors suggest that the potential new game is supposed to be stylized closer to what is seen in Valorant more than Overwatch. Leaker Miller also said that he likes the Storm design, which suggests that the X-men character will be included in the upcoming title.
For now, the information surrounding the rumored new Marvel game remains a bit murky as there are also some conflicting reports about the title. However, the top line is that a competitive Marvel hero shooter is enough to get fans hyped up and eager to expect something from Marvel Games' announcement.
Some players might be skeptical of NetEase Games' involvement in the project as the company is widely known for microtransaction-heavy mobile games. This somewhat makes many players shrug away from the possible new game.
This comes as hero shooters, such as Valorant, Overwatch, and Apex Legends, are also filled with microtransactions at baseline. Many expect the Marvel game will have skins, at the very least, available for purchase, according to Forbes.
