Sky: Children of the Light is launching its early access on Steam on Apr. 10, bringing the free-to-play open-world adventure game to PC for the first time since its release in 2019.
The game initially launched for iOS on Jul. 18, 2019, followed by Android on Apr. 7, 2020, the Nintendo Switch on June 29, 2021, and for PlayStation 4 players on Dec. 6, 2022. The game's developer hopes that its arrival on Steam will help them implement refinements that will make the experience on the new version shine.
Sky: Children of the Light Coming to Steam
The developers noted that players who will join the adventure on Steam PC and Steam Deck will be able to find a special item in the Aviary event shop that will commemorate their adventures. This is a Companion Cube that can be unlocked for 50 Candles and will become available permanently in the event shop.
On top of this, the "Journey Pack" will also be arriving on Apr. 10 and will be made available for all platforms that Sky: Children of the Light has launched on.
This is a formerly PlayStation exclusive that includes a cape and hood that were modeled after the iconic red outfit that was worn by the Journey traveler. It also comes with a mask that gives players' avatar a unique Journey-inspired voice when worn, according to Gematsu.

From the game's release on Steam up until Apr. 16, or seven days, every Heart gift or partial Heart gift that players send to their friends will automatically be doubled. However, this would only apply to gifts that are sent while Double Hearts are active. This means that gifts sent before Apr. 10 and picked up after the start of the event will not be included.
The developers also said that if the realms seem a bit brighter during the week including Apr. 10, this could be because they are filled with Treasure Candles. Every day there will be four different areas for Treasure Candles in each level from Daylight Prairie through Vault of Knowledge.
A Beautiful and Emotional World
The game is an online flying and platform puzzling game that features minimalist storytelling, emergent friendships with strangers, and the enjoyment of flying across the land and sand surfing to emotional orchestral music.
The majority of a player's time in Sky: Children of the Light will be spent in the game's six main realms trying to find spirits, solving flying and platforming puzzles, and rounding up nearby strangers to unlock secret areas and shortcuts together, said PCGamer.
Sky: Children of the Light regularly kicks off new seasons of content that provides players with new areas to explore. This means that the game has expanded its map area quite a bit since its release, which means that new players will have a much bigger world to explore coming in.
The game's developer, thatgamecompany, also known as TGC, is also responsible for Journey, which won IGN's Game of the Year award for 2012. The latest game's characters move with the same elegant grace with their capes fluttering behind them, according to IGN.
