Pathless Woods Early Access: Colorful Chinese Survival Game Comes to Steam on Apr. 3!

Pathless Woods Brings Players to Ancient China for a Beautiful Survival Game

A new and colorful Chinese survival game, Pathless Woods, is coming to Steam for Early Access on Apr. 3 and provides a lighter version of other often dark and intimidating titles in the genre.

This game has more of a focus on having players use traditional techniques and explore a variety of colorful and beautiful environments. It seemingly combines Stardew Valley's agriculture system with Genshin Impact's action-packed gameplay. It also features a lot of base-building that is seen in many high-profile games.

Pathless Woods is looking to become the coziest survival game on PC and already has a free demo out on Steam ahead of its official launch. The game was built by a small two-person studio in China known as Aniya Games. The developers are hoping that the title's ancient Chinese theme will help it attract gamers and stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Players will be able to explore the world of Pathless Woods and use its environment to their advantage in fighting against enemies while looking to discover secrets that have been buried inside ancient ruins scattered throughout the region, according to PCGamesN.

Pathless Woods has dazzling graphics and provides players with combat that would feel familiar to those who have played classic Zelda games. The game's world also has magnificent structures strewn across the region. The developer said that they were looking forward to seeing the creative endeavors that players will undertake within the game.

The game seems to focus most of its survival theme around farming as it embraces "traditional Chinese agricultural practices." This would include water irrigation, fertilizer use, and temperature control. Pathless Woods gives players the opportunity to grow a variety of produce that lets them make plenty of meals based on classical Chinese cuisine.

A Beautiful Chinese-Themed Survival Game

Aniya Games said that they plan to have the Early Access for Pathless Woods stay up for roughly a year and plan to release additional features over time. While the game still has relatively few features compared to other top titles, it is sure to breathe some fresh air into the multiplayer survival genre with its beautiful and colorful graphics, said VGChartz.

The game's publisher is Spiral Up Games and the company's CEO, Aldric Chang, said that any player who is a fan of the sandbox survival genre should try out Pathless Woods. Some of the enemies that players can expect to face off in the game are Jaer cultists who are trying to disturb the peace and pillage players' resources.

On top of the player-focused gameplay, Pathless Woods requires players to interact with friendly NPCs. Additionally, staying hydrated and nourished is essential to survival and they need to have a stable temperature in order to make it far.

The Chinese-themed survival game promises to bring players to a world that is found in the heart of ancient China and offers an authentic and unique experience. It is a title that many fans would absolutely love and others should not miss if they are a fan of the genre, according to the Game Crater.
