Performance Woes Addressed
Dragon's Dogma 2, launched on Mar. 22, has been marred by performance issues, particularly concerning frame-rate drops, even on potent gaming rigs. Capcom, the developer and publisher, issued an apology to Steam players, attributing the problems to heavy CPU usage, especially during scenes with numerous characters.
Modding to the Rescue
In response to these concerns, PureDark has introduced a solution. Leveraging DLSS 3, the third iteration of Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, the mod enhances frame-rates by generating frames in real-time using AI, benefiting games limited by GPU and CPU performance. DLSS 3 is exclusively available for RTX 40 series GPUs, including the recently unveiled RTX 40 Super series.
Accessible and Free
PureDark, known for DLSS mods, including the previously Patreon-exclusive Starfield DLSS 3, has made this Dragon's Dogma 2 mod freely available. The modder announced its release, acknowledging reports of occasional crashes and freezes among users but noting many have experienced smooth gameplay after extensive testing.
Future Fixes
Capcom has acknowledged issues related to DLSS Super Resolution on certain setups and assured players that fixes are in progress for an upcoming patch. Additionally, the company has plans to integrate DLSS Frame Generation officially in a future update, further optimizing the gaming experience.
