Developer RocketWerkz has a treat for those who have the "New Frontiers" expansion for ICARUS. That is because three new Shotgun ammo types have been introduced in the Week 115 Update.
New Shotgun Ammo
Three new Shotgun ammo have been added to ICARUS, courtesy of the Week 115 Update. They are the Cold Steel, Miasmic, and Obsidian Shotgun Shells. The reason why it is only available to those who have the New Frontiers expansion is that some of the necessary materials to craft them can only be found on Prometheus.
Anyway, these new shotgun shells do not have an unlock requirement, though you need to have the Machining Bench put up in order to craft them. Here is a rundown of the materials you will need:

So, where can you find the materials mentioned above? The Cold Steel Ingot is crafted at the Concrete Furnace using Steel Ingots and Super Cooled Ice. The Super Cooled Ice is a new resource in ICARUS that can only be found in the Arctic regions on Prometheus.
The Shaped Obsidian is made from Obsidian - chunks of solid lava that can be found in the Volcanic Bion on Prometheus. If you have a couple of Obsidians with you, head to the Stone Surface to mold them into a Shaped Obsidian.
Lastly, the Distilled Miasmic Coating is made from Crystallized Miasma. As you can already tell, this new resource is also native only to Prometheus. Go to the various Swamps scattered across the said map and kill any moving thing you encounter.
What is great about these new shotgun shells is that they inflict status effects depending on which one you use. The Cold Steel Shotgun Shell freezes enemies that are hit for 10 seconds.
The Obsidian Shotgun Shell applies the "Burning" status effect to enemies. This reduces their stamina regeneration and maximum health for 10 seconds.
The Miasmic Shotgun Shell inflicts "Miasma" on hit. This is a debuff that makes enemies more susceptible to physical damage.
Among the three, the Obsidian Shotgun Shell deals the most damage.

It bears reiterating that these new shotgun shells can only be crafted if you have the New Frontiers expansion for ICARUS. This DLC costs $29.99 on Steam.
