After nearly a month since its release, the insanely popular Palworld finally saw a huge decline in player count. Despite the massive drop in players tuning out of the game, developer Pocketpair is fine with it.

It's Fine to Take a Break

In a world filled with live-service games, it is easy to think that one must be loyal to a particular title and not try out the rest. This is a notion that has prevailed for such a long time now, but developer Pocketpair does not want its players exclusively playing Palworld as there are other games out there that are worth trying as well.

Bucky, a Community Manager for Palworld, posted on X/Twitter their sentiment about the declining player count. They said that they were convinced back in May of last year that Pocketpair's open-world survival game would break the 50,000-player mark. But, they did not expect it to reach peak player numbers of more than 2.1 million.

The game's community manager continued that after so many years in development, Palworld begins its ascent by fixing issues that ails its community, while also preparing for new content that will entice players to pick the title up again.

Bucky and the Palworld development team are definitely aware of the discourse surrounding the game's dwindling numbers. However, they are fine with it. In fact, Bucky even went on to say that it is okay to take breaks from games.

Palworld, despite only having over 500,000 people who played the game in the past 24 hours, is still quite popular. Bucky acknowledged that and said that good things take time to develop.

"Palworld, like many games before it, isn't in a position to pump out massive amounts of new content on a weekly basis. New content will come, and it's going to be awesome, but these things take a little bit of time," they added.

Bucky concluded their tweet by saying that players don't have to feel guilty if they move on from Palworld. "If you're no longer playing Palworld, we still love you, and we hope you'll come back for round 2 when you're ready," said the game's community manager.

The community seems to be in support of Bucky and the Palworld development team. User SyntacYT said that even though the game saw a massive decline in player count, it is still one of the top 10 games on Steam.

Another user chimed in, thanking the developers for creating such a fun game. "The franchise is strong, [so] don't waste the potential to be HUGE," they added.

Have you played Palworld since it was released earlier this year? If so, have you taken a break from this open-world survival title? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments!
