Overwatch 2 Season 8 is coming to a close, with the next season slated for launch later this month. However, players still have a few weeks to "suffer" from the boring tank meta and they are letting Blizzard know how frustrated they are about this.
'Boring' Tank Meta
Those who play Overwatch 2 without using Mauga, Roadhog, or Orisa may have a hard time defeating opposing teams that have any of them in their lineup.
Mauga has a very huge health pool, has two devastating guns that have no problem dealing with enemies, and is virtually unstoppable, particularly when he has a pocket healer alongside him at all times.
Roadhog is another problematic tank in Overwatch 2 simply because of his ability to hook members of the opposing team without an issue. As it stands, Roadhog can reel in enemies from up to 20 meters away. Not to mention that Roadhog has a self-healing mechanic that allows him to go to the thick of battle and recover from any damage he may have sustained all by himself.
Orisa? Yes, she is cumbersome to deal with as well. Her Javelin Spin ensures that she will not take any projectile damage from the front. As if that is not bad enough for her enemies, she also has the ability to reduce any damage taken thanks to Fortify.
Because of how powerful these three tanks are, some Overwatch 2 players took to Reddit to voice their frustration.
Redditor Fizziest_milk said that Mauga, Roadhog, and Orisa all require certain heroes to take down effectively. They added that they are "bored" of the current meta since all they ever come across are teams that have any of these tanks in their lineup.
Another Redditor chimed in that the Season 8 meta is annoying because even though they find a match without the "big three," at some point, the opposing team's tank would swap to one of them immediately after getting killed.

Will Things Change Next Season?
Blizzard has still not disclosed any substantial information about the changes that are coming to Season 9. However, if the leaked patch notes are to be believed, there might be certain adjustments that would shake up the meta. Only time will tell if this is really the case.
Have you played Overwatch 2 recently? If so, do you agree that the "big three" are so cumbersome to deal with?
