Stardew Valley 1.6 Secrets Revealed— Why ConcernedApe Insists You Start a New Save File Now

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, shared that the highly anticipated 1.6 update has grown significantly in size since its initial revelation in April 2023. Originally intended to primarily enhance modding capabilities, the update has evolved into something much larger, promising a plethora of new features and improvements for players to explore.

New Content Galore, but a Fresh Start Recommended

The expanded scope of Stardew Valley 1.6 includes peculiar storage solutions, pets donning fashionable hats, and an exciting New Year event featuring fireworks, among other surprises. Barone assures players that the update is now content-complete and undergoing final polishing before its scheduled release later this year.

To Reset or Not

As the anticipation builds, some players are contemplating whether they should start a new farm to fully experience all the additions in version 1.6. Addressing this concern, Barone took to Twitter, advising players that while continuing from a Year 2 save won't miss out on most new content, he recommends starting a new save file for an enhanced experience.

In a tweet responding to a player questioning the fate of their Year 2 farm, Barone explained, "Continuing from Year 2 won't be a problem, but I still might recommend a new file just for fun and to see everything in context."

Barone's suggestion emphasizes the immersive nature of the update, urging players to embark on a new farming adventure to appreciate the content in its entirety.
