The developers of the city-building game Timberborn, where players get to command cute beavers to do their bidding, have put up a new experimental update on Steam. This patch introduces a new building specifically for the Iron Teeth faction.
More Power
Every structure in Timberborn requires power to operate. As settlements become more populated with buildings and machines, players have to make sure that they produce enough power to keep everything working as intended.
That said, fans of the Iron Teeth faction have been asking the developers to add a new structure that can provide more energy to their communities. Fortunately, the dev team has obliged!
The Large Power Wheel is a new structure that finally addresses the energy crisis, at least, in Timberborn. This structure requires 100 logs to build. The beauty of this thing is that it can produce 300 HP worth of power, provided that players put four hard-working beavers into it.
Newly Reworked Map
The Mountain Range, one of the newer maps that are available in Timberborn, has received an overhaul. The said map used to be 196x196 in size, but the developers have now made it more rectangular in shape, with dimensions of 256x150.
Other Changes
The developers have implemented significant improvements to the game as well. For one, building pipes now adjust their length accordingly, allowing players to put walkable platforms or plants directly on top of them.
Furthermore, the Forester has a new checkbox that instructs beavers to replant dead trees not marked for cutting automatically.
Patch Notes
MISCELLANEOUS
-
Added the Prioritize by haulers
-
toggle to all relevant buildings in the Settlement Panel.
-
Season change pop-up now disappears based on real-time rather than in-game time. It also disappears when UI elements such as the Settlement Panel are opened. And if you load a save where a drought or bad tideis about to start, it won't be displayed.
-
When using the priority tool on stacked buildings, the priorities are now assigned from top to bottom, not otherwise.
-
Decreased the range in which beavers idle and - if homeless - go to sleep within a tile.
BUG FIXES
-
Fixed a bug that prevented lumberjacks from breaking teeth (and left beaver dentists in awe).
-
Fixed a bug that caused moving beavers to suddenly stop and immediately resume running. The third time's a charm!
-
It is now possible to select a beaver sitting in a building with a terrain cutout (i.e. Motivatorium).
-
Fixed a bug with water-blocking objects such as levees not being accounted for in water depth calculations. This in turn affected irrigation and contamination ranges on uneven terrain.
-
Removed that random birch tree from Diorama.
-
Fixed a rare situation with beavers refusing to finish a building after loading the game.
-
For the safety of all beavers, Badwater Source, Water Source, and Badwater Rig can no longer be walked through.
-
Fixed the "Thanks for playing..." exit prompt breaking on certain UI scales.
-
Fixed a crash caused by trying to send a post-crash report. *insert the Inception joke here*
Players who want to try this new experimental update for the game can right-click Timberborn from their Steam libraries, select "Properties," and then choose the "Betas" tab. There should be a drop-down menu that lets players pick the experimental branch.
Timberborn is available on PC.
