Grounded, the survival action-adventure game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, has received an update recently that introduced a bunch of exciting new features. One of those features allows players to browse other "Playgrounds" made by the community.
Playground Browser
Last month, Obsidian Entertainment introduced "Playgrounds" - a feature that allows players to create a custom version of the game that they can tailor to their liking. These Playgrounds can be enjoyed by the creators themselves, but they do have the option of sharing it with others.
Fast forward to now, the company has added another feature called the "Playground Browser" in the newly released Patch 1.3.4. As its name implies, this lets players browse the Playgrounds created by the community in a much better, more streamlined interface.
In the Downloads section, players are greeted with a list of Playgrounds based on certain categories, including Recent Hits, Monthly Hits, All-time Hits, and Brand New. Players who want to get the latest Playground that was added by the Grounded community can head to the "Brand New" tab, for example.
On the creators' side, those who wish to publish their custom Playgrounds for the community to enjoy can now add more details about their work. For instance, creators can add a "Single Player" or "Multiplayer" tag to let others know of the ideal player count for that specific Playground. Furthermore, genre tags can be utilized to describe the type of Playground players can expect. Some of the genre tags include Survival, Base Build, Platforming, Combat Challenge, PvP Arena, and so on.

New Gadgets to Play With
Players have a lot of new gadgets and gizmos to play with in Grounded Patch 1.3.4. One of the most notable is the "Attack Listener" - a new gizmo that notifies players when a specific attack occurs nearby.
The new "Storage Filler" allows players to spawn items into linked storage containers. According to the company, this is best used in conjunction with the "Random Chance Gizmo" to create randomized loot.
Players who want to transport an object from one point to another can make great use of the "Teleport Gizmo." This thing teleports the triggering object to any random Teleport Gizmo matching the same channel.
The other gizmos introduced in this update are:
-
Player Death Listener
-
A gizmo that triggers when a specified player dies.
-
-
Hazard Volume

A region that applies a specified status effect onto players who enter it. Options include:

Other Changes
Players who have Gnats as pets can now set them to "Ghost Mode" via a toggle. While in this mode, the Gnats can go through objects without clipping.
In addition, Armor Dummies and Lights in Grounded can now be set in a way that disallows players from being able to interact with them in Play Mode. What's more, playing a downloaded Playground will initiate an autosave on game start.
Grounded Patch 1.3.4 is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
