There's been "mounting evidence" that Spider-Man Remastered on PC could have official PSN account linking, which could be big for the game down the line.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, a bunch of dataminers say they've found numerous mentions of PSN account integration deep within the game's files. References such as "PSNAccountLinked" and "PSNLinkingEntitlements" have been spotted in there. But aside from that, there are also apparent hints that anybody who links their PSN account into Spider-Man Remastered on PC - whether it's on Steam or the Epic Games Store - will get some freebies from Sony.
Among those freebies was allegedly labeled "LevelCapExtras." The dataminers say this could mean that players who reach a certain level - say, Level 50 which is the maximum level in the game as it stands - would get some in-game bonuses. Maybe new suits, some XP boosts, whatever.
For now, though, Spider-Man Remastered is not asking or requiring PC players to link their PSN accounts to play. All you need to do is launch Steam or Epic, click Play, and that's it. It helps that there's no extra steps too, because it lessens the time for the game to boot up. Even Sony themselves were adamant at not requiring their PC ports to be linked to players' PSN accounts (via Video Games Chronicle).
But if PSN account linking will prove true for Spider-Man's PC port, then it would mean big things. The most important one could be cloud saves. There are lots of people out there with PCs that may have played the game on PlayStation back in the day. If they were subscribed to PlayStation Plus, they would've had access to cloud saves.
With cloud saves, this could mean they can transfer their game progress from their old consoles to PC. Of course, there would be a few complications regarding this (i.e. base Spider-Man saves might not be compatible with the remastered version), but we digress.
Insomniac Games' excellent take on the iconic web crawler's story is now out for PC globally, and it's getting great reviews - four years after the original game's release.

Spider-Man Remastered's PC Success At A Glance
Sony and Insomniac Games made the right choice with this new PlayStation port once again, and that's hard to dispute.
According to IGN, Spider-Man Remastered on PC is now PlayStation Studios' second-biggest PC launch behind God Of War. It has handily outperformed prior releases Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn, tallying an all-time peak player count of 66,436 players since release. This only trails God Of War's 73,529, and is far beyond Zero Dawn's and Day's Gone's numbers (56,557 and 27,450).
A huge part of this success is just how well the game runs on PCs - even mid-range ones. The game looks amazing while not needing an extremely high-end system to run smoothly, as seen in this tech analysis by Digital Foundry:
