If you're looking for the best monitor for Xbox Series S in 2022, this is the list for you. Here, we will give you a few recommendations based on reviews, specs, and overall value - all to ensure that you're getting the most out of your tiny but mighty next-gen console.
Before we get on with it, though, a DISCLAIMER: all of the prices you see here are subject to change without prior notice. They are accurate as of this article's creation only. So now that's out of the way, let's begin!
Best All Around: Samsung Odyssey G7 240Hz
The Samsung Odyssey G7 is one of the recommendations by WePC, and we're inclined to agree. This monitor comes in 27 and 32-inch sizes with a sky-high refresh rate that's a little overkill. Nevertheless, this is the best monitor for Xbox Series S that you can get if money isn't exactly an issue (the current price on Amazon is $660).
Best Value: ASUS VG27AQ
As per Windows Central, they recommend the ASUS VG27AQ monitor for its excellent value for the money. It's not too expensive at around $300 on Newegg as of this writing, and it comes with everything you need for the Series S. It features an IPS panel with a 1440p resolution, 144Hz-170Hz refresh rate, and a built-in speaker, among other goodies.
Best 1080p Monitor: ASUS VG279Q
Xbox On calls the VG279Q the best monitor for Xbox Series S at the massively popular 1080p resolution and roughly $300 price range. As previously mentioned, you don't need a QHD monitor to experience excellent visuals on the Series S. In fact, going for a high refresh rate 1080p monitor can be considered the absolute best choice for the tiny console, because Full HD displays are cheaper than QHD and they often come in refresh rates past 120Hz - even on the lower end.

Best Budget 1080p Monitor: AOC 24G2
If you bought a Series S, chances are your budget is tight and spending over $500 on a monitor to pair with a cheap console doesn't make sense. Fair enough. If you're of the same mindset, then the AOC 24G2 is the best choice for you at sub-$300 (the monitor goes as low as $240 on Newegg right now). You get 144Hz, 1ms response time and extremely low input lag for this price which is HARD to beat. The only drawback of this one is it doesn't support HDR.
What To Look For In Gaming Monitors For Xbox Series S
Notice that we said "gaming monitors" and not TVs for the Series S, because the best display to pair with this console is a PC monitor ranging from 1080p to 1440p resolutions. No TVs will feature native 1440p, and while there are 1080p TVs, they're often too big for their own good.
Going for a 4K TV is not recommended since the console can't run games on that resolution natively. While games will be displayed and everything works without a hitch, you'd really be overpaying for a 4K screen for the kind of visual quality you'll get. A 1080p or 1440p image upscaled to 4K doesn't look good and is never worth the extra several hundred bucks.
Next up, you'll also need to look at refresh rates. The Series S is capable of 120Hz output, so take advantage of that however you can. However, you can still go for a 60Hz panel as this would do perfectly fine. A good amount of Series S games don't run past 60Hz/60 FPS anyway, so you can opt to save money in this department.
Lastly, splurge for an HDR-enabled display if you can. High-Dynamic Range allows games to be displayed in more vibrant, natural-looking colors. You'll find out the difference between an SDR and an HDR display once you see it for yourself.
