Riyadh Masters 2022: PSG.LGD Takes Revenge Win Against TI10 Champs

Riyadh Masters 2022: PSG.LGD Takes Revenge Win Against TI10 Champs

After a heartbreaking loss to Team Spirit in TI10, PSG.LGD defeats the T1 champs to take home the Riyadh Masters championship.

Coming in hungry and seeking revenge, T1 runner-up PSG.LGD takes a swift 2-0 win in the finals match-up, sweeping the opponent in a record 1 hour of total game time, One Esports said in a report. It looked like LGD had no plans of providing Spirit with any window to go through.

With a daring draft selection, PSG.LGD struggled in the laning phase with heroes Lone Druid and Alchemist, which suffered early deaths in laning pick-offs. LGD's squad showed consistent play style and did not succumb to greed, were aware of picking meaningful teamfights and also did not go lax when they were in the lead. LGD was quick to stomp the TI winner.

With Strong Performance, PSG.LGD is Locked In for T1

Despite Spirit going aggressive with heroes Marci and Viper in the offlane, PSG-LGD endured tight match-up and secured objectives after objectives later on in the games.

With this overpowering win over Team Spirit, it can be considered that PSG.LGD is one of the strongest teams in international pro DOTA, with their unpredictable hero pool and consistent start-to-end gameplay. As they give a solid outing in this year's Riyadh Masters, can they be powerful enough to snatch the coveted Aegis of champions this time?

PSG.LGD Wins Despite Bold Draft and Offlane Errors

With LGD picking heroes like Lone Druid and Alchemist, which are actually fragile heroes in offlane skirmishes, the new champs stood above what the meta dictates and won, thanks to Ame's bold yet effective draft. With the success of a draft like this, we can easily conclude that LGD's draft is actually not that daring and bold, rather is team gameplay-dependent.

Collapse and Mira dominated the laning phases, almost bullying Ame's heroes each game, but with well-coordinated teamfights initiated by LGD, they slashed through Spirit's line of defenses with so much ease. Considering Team Secret picked counter heroes to LGD's draft and still lost proves how much the team learned in the past years.

This early in the year, teams should find a way to dismantle LGD's amazing display of effective teamfights if they don't want this team to ace the coming TI.

In both games, PSG.LGD's Ame rampaged Team Spirits defenses with the help of securing the highest net worth, maybe LGD learned a thing or two from their second-place-finish from last year's The International. LGD walks home with the USD$1.5 million prize money.
