This year's biggest Steam sale includes a handful which only launched recently, with most of them being critically acclaimed titles in their own right. Aside from that, there's also several games that might have gone a bit underrated and under your radar. Those games will be great to tide you over while you wait for the heavy-hitters to arrive later this year and early next year.
So without further ado, here are the games to consider getting during Steam Summer Sale 2022 courtesy of publications such as GamesRadar, GameSpot, and IGN - as well as a few of our own recommendations from here at GameNGuide.
God Of War ($39.99)
Let's start with one of the big boys. Sony Santa Monica's Nordic rendition of Kratos' adventures was received with critical acclaim when it first launched as a PlayStation exclusive. The game's eventual release on PC was not too different, with critics and fans alike hailing it as one of the best (if not the best) console-to-PC ports of all time.
God Of War is currently $10 (20%) off as part of Steam Summer Sale 2022. If the game's "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on its Steam page (both recent and all of them) aren't enough to sway you over, nothing will.
Doom Eternal ($16)
As a follow-up to the roaring success that is the 2016 Doom reboot, Eternal had mammoth shoes to fill - and fill them it did, and then some. Four years later, Doom Eternal brought the same insanely satisfying gunplay that made the reboot just... rip, while also bringing the player new demons to kill and new, even more awesome weapons to kill them with.
It's the ultimate power fantasy game that will make you feel every bit like an unstoppable, indomitable killing machine. And it's down to $16 as part of this year's biggest Steam sale! How awesome is that?

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga ($37.49)
In our own review of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, we basically called it a bastion of fun; an oasis in a desert of an industry full of games that try too hard to be realistic, gritty, and even stressful. And we mean that. It proved to be an excellent game to play for both LEGO and Star Wars veterans/newcomers alike, due to how it repackages the stories of all nine mainline films in a very enjoyable manner.
As of this writing, the reviews on the game's Steam page sit in "Very Positive" territory based on over 21,000 user reviews. You get access to over 100 playable characters (each with their own unique abilities that actually don't feel undercooked), as well as see the most iconic scenes in the Star Wars franchise play out with signature LEGO humor.
Red Dead Redemption 2 ($30)
Rockstar's open-world Wild West masterpiece is absolutely best experienced on PC - though you'll need to make sure your rig can handle it. It's also an insane 50% off via the Steam Summer Sale 2022 - a deal that's hard to pass on if you ever saw it.
Numerous reviews praise Red Dead Redemption 2 for its incredible writing, acting, performances, and an open world that seems very believable as soon as you get loosed on it.
