Jurassic World Evolution 2 just received an expansion tying into the feature-length film Dominion, and it is out today.
As reported by DualShockers, the dino park business-making sim received an extensive expansion called Dominion Biosyn, which features a new campaign, new dinos, and a new map, among other things. A lot of the content obviously draws inspiration from Jurassic World Dominion, which released in theatres last June 10th.
Here is the official trailer for the new Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC:
As you can see there, the new expansion allows you to deal with new buildings that are tied to Biosyn Genetics - a company more well-known in Jurassic Park lore for stealing ideas from other scientists, as well as employing more lawyers and corporate spies than actual scientists themselves.
Aside from the new Biosyn buildings, the expansion also introduces a new campaign that centers on Biosyn Genetics itself - a company that was prominently featured in Jurassic World Dominion. This campaign is separate from Evolution 2 main campaign and can be accessed directly from the game's main menu.
YouTuber BestInSlot goes into a lot of detail about the Jurassic World Dominion-inspired add-ons to Jurassic World Evolution 2's gameplay. You can watch his video right here:
To cap things off, the DLC introduces new dinosaurs, as shared in the Jurassic World Evolution 2 website. This includes the flame-colored Pyroraptor, which is described as the Velociraptor's distant cousin. There's also the fierce plant-eater Therizinosaurus, the Dimetrodon (a species so old it predates even the dinosaurs themselves), and the largest flying animal to ever exist: the Quetzalcoatlus.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is now out on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass as of the moment.

Is Jurassic World Dominion Any Good?
For Jurassic World Evolution 2 to get a movie tie-in expansion days after Jurassic World Dominion released could be indication that the film is good, right? Well, the answer is a bit more complicated than that.
Numerous reviews from publications, including that of The Guardian, basically chastise the movie for "playing it too safe." While they didn't call the film terrible per se, they did mention how a lot of the elements in it either didn't make much sense (like the return of Jeff Goldblum's character Dr. Ian Malcolm) or the action sequences with Chris Pratt that could've been done better.
Other critic reviews are a bit more scathing, however. Based on 322 reviews on RottenTomatoes, all of these led to a sub-par 30% Tomatometer. But you can also see beside it that fans weren't as harsh on the film itself, as it still earned a positive 79% audience score.
As such, this leads to the overall box office success of Dominion with a massive $143 million domestic debut, writes Variety. People still came in droves to see the movie, which was perhaps bolstered by the inclusion of original actors Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill).
Its box office performance was actually good enough to help it trump the debuts of other big-time features such as Spider-Man No Way Home (which earned $56 million in its third weekend) and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness ($32 million in its third weekend). As such, it's understandable why the devs over at Frontier Developments wanted a movie tie-in expansion.
