As you may have already figured out, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is part of a video game series by Bandai Namco called Ace Combat. If you are curious as to how long the video game series has been around, the first game was released in 1995. Ace Combat 7 is the most recent game in the series as it was released in 2019.
This arcade-style game lets you "become an ace pilot and soar through photorealistic skies with full 360 degree movement," according to Steam page for Ace Combat 7.
Its official website states that the game is built on Unreal Engine 4, which guarantees the photorealistic scenery as well a highly detailed aircraft. Ace Combat 7 also features dynamic that can suddenly change during your flight, which makes the gaming experience even more realistic.
Speaking of the aircraft, if you are the type to nerd and fawn over different types of planes, you are in for a treat because the game has more than 25 different aircraft.

'Top Gun: Maverick'
While we did say that you will find no "Top Gun: Maverick" spoilers in this feature, there is still something we want to tell you about that is related to the movie. Specifically, we want to tell you about the Top Gun: Maverick Aircraft Set DLC hat you can purchase in addition to the base game.
According to Steam, among the things you can expect in this DLC are a playable F-14A Tomcat, F/A-18E Super Hornet and 5th Gen Fighter. The DLC will also include collaboration emblems as well as collaboration nicknames, particularly those from the "Top Gun: Maverick" movie.

Steam Reviews for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has more than 19,000 user reviews on Steam as of press time. These reviews are generally described as "Very Positive" by the platform.
A Steam user who goes by the handle mblaze says in a review that the "most notable new feature which gives the game a quasi-realistic, not to say next-gen feel is the implementation of volumetric clouds and air turbulence, which affects aircraft handling, visibility and rocket use."
"It finally feels like there is a almost tangible medium between the player and the target, not just a digital vacuum," the review adds.
Another Steam user who goes by the handle Friendly Ball commends in a separate review the game's fun combat and good storyline.
