You will have to wait a long, long, long time unti you get your hands on GTA 6, it seems. Or at least that's what Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two implied during their recent earnings call.
As reported by DualShockers, the next instalment of the long-running and award-winning GTA series was nowhere to be found in the games pipeline for Take-Two, who only revealed games until 2025. This is likely to the massive disappointment of GTA fans, who assumed that the sixth instalment will be here given how it's already been announced - albeit indirectly.
Nevertheless, the games that were included in the pipeline until 2025 were also already announced beforehand. These games include a total of 61 games encompassing Take-Two's numerous studios and platforms.
For their "Immersive Core," which perhaps means their biggest AAA titles, these are the ones included (24 games in total):
-
The Quarry
-
Marvel's Midnight Suns
-
Kerbal Space Program 2
-
NBA 2K23, PGA Tour 2K23, WWE 2K23
The other games are as follows:
Independent: 10 unannounced indie games
Mobile: 20 games including the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition mobile port
Mid core: 7 total games including a new Tales from the Borderlands game
New iterations of previously released titles: 8 unannounced games
As you can see there, there's absolutely no mention of GTA 6 anywhere. The closest and most notable one is the planned mobile port for the remastered GTA Definitive Edition trilogy, which was already released for new-gen and last-gen consoles, as well as PC.
That compilation technically still has a lot of work needed on it, but Take-Two made it clear that they plan the mobile release for fiscal year 2023.

Other Games That Weren't Mentioned Aside From GTA 6
Take-Two Interactive also left out another major game aside from GTA 6: the new Bioshock game, writes ComicBook. But the omission of the game could likely be due to the company not planning to release it during the current window. Either way, you can't expect GTA 6 and Bioshock for a few more years, as Rockstar has been known to take their sweet time when it comes to making games.
On the subject of the next big GTA game, however, Take-Two has an official explanation. In a report by SVG, the company blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for being a big factor in the slowdown in the game's development. This is quite understandable, since almost all recent games from 2020 onwards have bee developed in some way in the midst of global pandemic restrictions.
Aside from that, GTA 5 actor Shawn Fonteno (who played Franklin) believes that fans wouldn't accept it if Rockstar rushed a game out. And that also makes sense.
"Rockstar is a quality, high-end, top shelf type of business man... it's time, man... if y'all look at the interviews of us, it took us four and a half years to film and complete GTA 5," Fonteno says.
Be patient, folks.
