A new rumor stated that Gears of War, the second quintessential Xbox franchise next to Halo, might get a remastered compilation in the same vein as the Master Chief Collection.

According to a report by PCGamer, the rumor comes from a recent episode of the XboxEra podcast. In there, co-host Nick (Shpeshal_Nick) Baker said that he is "of the belief" that another Microsoft franchise is getting the Master Chief Collection-type treatment (aka a full remaster of the entire series in one package).
He mentions how this has been a rumor way before, but now he believes it's going to come out this year. He didn't outright say the name, but a certain timestamp in the XboxEra episode was actually titled "Oh, Gears Collection?" as you can see in this video here. Check from the 43:33 mark:
Baker goes on to say that the potential Gears of War remastered collection could be revealed by Microsoft by the original timeslot of E3 2022 (which has since been canceled both physically and digitally), which was first scheduled for June 9-12. However, Baker did mention June 12th as the likeliest day for when the remastered collection will be announced - if there's even an announcement at all.
But there is a pretty big problem surrounding this rumor, which involves Gears of War series dev The Coalition. In a blog post on the Gears 5 website, the studio has announced that players shouldn't expect any new announcements "for some time," since they're switching all game dev projects to Epic Games' brand-new Unreal Engine 5.
For now, however, Baker's proclamations don't indicate a confirmation of a Gears of War remastered collection a-la the Master Chief Collection. That's because The Coalition is in the early stages of making the next Gears game, as reported by Video Games Chronicle. Whether that game is Gears 6 or not still isn't clear. Either way, the devs have their hands full and cannot afford any detours.

What Would A Gears Of War Remastered Collection Look Like?
Whether it's going to be called the Marcus Fenix Collection is still up in the air. But if this rumor is true, then a remastered compilation of all Gears of War games in one package is going to be good.
Just look at the Halo Master Chief Collection, for example. That compilation contained every single mainline Halo game complete with their add-on content. The entire experience moving from one game to another was seamless (especially on PC), with individual game settings having the option to be applied to all titles within the compilation.
This doesn't mean that the Gears franchise hasn't had a remaster before, though. There is one: Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Windows 10, which saw the original Xbox 360 game remastered to 4K with sharper textures and overall; better visuals. Aside from that, the game also came with five new campaign chapters which weren't included in the original 360 version.
If a Gears of War remastered collection is indeed coming, they better do the same for all older games in the franchise barring the more modern ones.
