It is that time of the week again for another ProFiles feature!
If this is your first time to encounter the ProFiles series, let us tell you first about what it is all about. ProFiles is a weekly series where we feature gamers who have made a mark in the industry. We are not limiting our features to just eSports players, but we plan on including streamers, YouTubers, and more as the series goes along.
For today's feature, we put the spotlight on retired Dota 2 player Anathan "Ana" Pham. He may have had a short professional career, but it cannot be denied that he has experienced much success. It also cannot be denied that he remains to be one of the best to ever play Dota 2 professionally.
Here is what you have to know about Dota 2's ana, his career, and the team he joined and won The International twice with:
ProFiles: Dota 2's Ana
According to Liquipedia, Anathan "ana" began playing Dota 2 in his home country of Australia but eventually decided to make the move to China since he wanted to become a professional player. Because of this decision, he had to drop out of high school.
He eventually became part of Invictus Gaming in 2016. The team eventually went on to defeat Newbee during the National Electronic Arena (NEA) 2016.

OG and Two The International Victories
ana left Invictus Gaming to joing OG after The International 2016 and this move proved to be a stepping stone towards success for the Australian player. While ana and OG managed to have successful runs during Elimination Mode Season 2 and The Boston Major, they failed to win The International 2017.
He took a break from competitive gaming after the loss, only to join Echo International in 2018. His stint with the team did not last long and he eventually came back to OG by June.
ana won his first The International after his return from break as OG beat LGD Gaming in the grand finals. However, ana would go on to announce that he was taking an extended break again.
By 2019, he was back with the team and won his second The International after OG beat Team Liquid. This victory made both ana and OG the first ever repeat winners in the history of The International.
Again, ana went on a hiatus after winning his second The International. He returned to the active roster in April 2021, only to announce his retirement by June of the same year.
Ana in Action
ana may now be a retired player, but Dota 2 fans as well as avid eSports followers are likely not to forget his performance during his career, especially while with OG.
According to his profile on GosuGamers, his most played and most successful heroes include Alchemist, Phantom Lancer, Slark, and Troll Warlord.
