#SteamSpotlight Dorfromantik is a Puzzle Game That Lets You Create Landscapes by Placing Tiles

10 games into the #SteamSpotlight series and we are going to slow things down somewhat with today's 11th installment. If you have been paying attention to the series, the games we have featured so far involves a lot of shooting, horror, and probably even stress on your end as the player.

We are taking a break from all that by featuring something rather peaceful and relaxing for the 11th entry in the #SteamSpotlight series. This game is a puzzle game, but do not think for one second that it will be boring because it is anything but.

Developed and published by Toukana Interactive, Dorfromantik is described by the developer as "a relaxing soft-strategy citybuilder game" on its official website.

What you basically have to do in this building strategy and puzzle game is to create idyllic, beautiful landscapes by placing tiles. Sounds pretty simple and straightforward, right? To an extent, it is, but there is also a bit more to it than just placing one tile after another.

There is a lot of strategy and careful planning involved in placing your tiles. According to its Steam page, you start with a stack of tiles and you have to draw from the top of that stack. You then have to place that tile on an available space and rotate it until it fits.

"Thereby groups and combinations of landscapes are formed, such as forests, villages or water bodies, and you are rewarded with points depending on how well the tile fits," its Steam page explains.

Special Objects, Quests, and Other Things You Need to Know

One thing you should keep an eye out for are titles that contain special objects. These special objects usually have a quest attached to them. For example, a deer would prefer to be in a forest that has 50 trees in it. You will have to fulfill that quest.

Dorfromantik offers three modes you can choose from. The Quick Mode is for when you want to play a quick game, as its name suggests. The Hard Mode, on the other hand, is perfect for those who want to master the game.

There is also the Custom Mode, where you will be able to create your own rulesets.
